The unique single source & supply of an ITL
integrated driveline has become the secret component in the success of many OEMs
world-wide. Drivelines within the 30-135kW (40-180hp) power range have applications in...

QUESTION?
Can an OEM accurately assess the real
costs associated with achieving and maintaining a lead in product conformity, safety
requirements, emission controls and environmental protection laws?
ANSWER ! Increasing legislation across world-wide markets has made ITL drivelines for
on/off highway equipment, the simple and cost effective way to meet and comply with local and
international environmental rulings.
ITL is the only company in the world who can supply from in house: engines, transmissions and axles. We control supply and quality entirely to offer the most productive and diviable powertrains - suitable for your application.
ITL's specialist knowledge in matching these compatible products to drivelines has been gained by our engineers over many
years. These drivelines release the OEM from significant development, enabling
you to focus on your machine's core functionality and the customer.
OEMs across the world benefit from ITL's flexibility and
breadth of on/off highway solutions.
The applications for these are many and varied:
- Aircraft tow tugs
- Back hoe loaders
- Carry cranes
- Crop sprayers
- Fork lifts
- Mine utility vehicles
- Rough terrain fork lifts
- Site dumpers
- Wheeled excavators
ITL's expertise in integrated drivelines enables OEMs to
exploit niche markets without the high expenditure on R&D testing normally associated
with up-grading or developing new machines.
Drivelines include engines, axles (rigid drive, steer drive and dead
steer), powershift transmissions with electronic control units (ECU), live power take off
(PTO), synchromesh transmissions, close coupled and remote, torque converters and
housings on powertrains for both conventional and hydrostatic driveline systems.
Ancillary components are also supplied within the driveline package to
include hydraulic cylinders, control valves, pumps, steering controls, carden shafts, air
intakes, cooling packages and exhaust systems.
ITL prototyping can be
scheduled into your marketing
cycle faster. Production can be streamlined without incurring vast procurement programmes
or compromising your existing customer service. All ITL integrated drivelines, engines, axles,
transmissions and hydraulic cylinders are supplied individually or as complete packages.
ITL's database of performance rated products
ensures each of our components is matched. All products
and services are backed by a full commercial export
credit services department and world-wide shipping capabilities.
The World's only truly integrated driveline
Driveline systems are custom built specifications for your individual
application. By harnessing ITL's uniquly compatible components, our engineers
can assimilate individual products into an integrated package, resulting in the driveline
becoming just one component comprising matched specifications. This gives the OEM a rapid,
fully engineered solution able to improve existing products, test market new sectors and
fulfil subsequent production orders or, alternatively, launch a higher specification
machine which might comprise a new range. Conversely, ITL can enable a 'smaller' capacity
machine to be launched by OEMs whose other machines may be over the 135kW (180hp) power
point.
An ITL integrated driveline package offers three
distinct benefits:

Significant cost reduction.
By taking advantage of ITL's database knowledge, much of the design research,
development, engineering, dimensional calculations and performance ratings are eliminated
at the OEM's base.
Simplicity.
With ITL, OEMs place orders
for a complete integrated matched driveline and effectively eliminate the supply problems which hinder assembly.
With an ITL integrated driveline, once the shipment has
arrived with the OEM, it is ready for the primary components to be fitted to the chassis
along with controls, machine functioning components and the cab, where applicable.
All supplied ready-to-fit, often with mounting brackets in place to facilitate ease of
assembly.
Flexibility.
Drivelines can be ordered from ITL against orders won by the OEM.
Therefore your response to market conditions can become more effectively
managed. In House supply tributaries constantly feed product into ITL at our world
manufacturing centre. Here a rich core of engines, axles, transmissions, assembled powertrains, hydraulics, cooling packages and
brake systems are available for most configurations.
A typical driveline consists of:
- The power train, comprising engine,
torque converter and gearbox.
- Axles : rigid, steer drive or dead
steer.
- Four-speed synchromesh transmission
with 2 or 4 wheel steer drive configurations.
- Four/six speed powershift transmissions with optional ECU and live power take off (PTO) for 2 or 4 wheel
steer drive configurations.
- Hydraulic cylinders; brake packs;
cooling and fuel systems.
Possible driveline configurations:
An ITL 4WS Driveline. Based on a 74.6kW (100hp) Turbocharged 4 cylinder 4 valve JCB 444 T Diesel engine. Matched to an ITL PS 760 powershift transmission and two ITL SD 80 steerdrive axles with power track rods offering four wheel steering.
An ITL articulated Driveline. An ITL Driveline configuration for an articulated machine, Based on a 62kW (82hp) naturally aspirated 4 cylinder 4 valve JCB 444 Diesel engine. Matched to an ITL SS 700 syncromesh transmission and ITL TG 300 transfer box and ITL PD 70 axle and PD55 rigid drive axle.

ITL supplies a range of compatible 4 cylinder diesel engines which include the latest current and planned emaissions and noise legislation. The JCB engine range is: 62kW/83hp, 74kW/99hp and 106kW/142hp.
Each ITL component is
on-line tested using the latest techniques and equipment; the relevant and confidential
data from many years' R&D and in-service usage can be made available to those
companies who need to exploit markets without expenditure on time and testing. Prototyping
can be scheduled into the marketing cycle sooner and production phased without
compromising long-term planning. This gives OEMs greater flexibility when offering
value-plus services to their own customers.
Putting
customers first is a service attribute upon which ITL
concentrates. Each is regarded as a partner in the
generation of an on/off highway vehicle. Every
customer is encouraged to visit
ITL's plant in Wrexham where practical. This helps
strengthen the links between companies and turns the
relationship into one which is more of a partnership.
ITL customers can relax about the increasing preference for
electronic controls with mechanical configurations. ITL's research into electronic control
is part of its remit to ensure that OEM systems are genuinely integrated. This means
manufacturers can update and modernise popular and profitable vehicle application ranges
without extensive re-design.
